  • to help students understand how math applies to many different kinds of problems in the real world

  • to give parents and teachers a chance to connect with each other and with resources in their community

  • to show students that math is fun and EVERYWHERE!

What is Math Night?

Math night is a fun learning opportunity for students in elementary school and their parents. It lets kids show off their math skills and introduces them to mathematical topics beyond their everyday schoolwork. Meanwhile, parents get a first-hand look at how their kids apply math in a real-world situation. They may even learn something new about mathematics themselves.

What happens during Math Night?

Teachers will be located in the front area of Walmart where you will pick up a grade-level question sheet, clipboard, and pencil. Students and their parents will then go on a scavenger hunt in Walmart to try to answer questions relating to their curriculum. The answer sheet acts as a homework pass for the following day! Parents - be sure to download a QR Code Reader app so that kids can check to see if their answers to questions are correct!

The Papa John's pizza truck is scheduled to be there, too!

Save the Date!
