Herff Jones will be taking make-up cap/gown & graduation announcements orders during lunch on TBA.
Orders can be placed and payments can be made, through Herff Jones online or by call 770-795-1626.
**Even if you are unsure if you will graduate, order anyway because if you don't, they will give you a full refund!

This trip to Universal Studios will take place on April 24th. Total cost of the trip is $205. You can pay in full or in payments via the MyPaymentsPlus portal.

1st payment of $85 (which will reserve your spot) is due Sept 20
2nd payment of $60 is due Nov 22
Final payment of $60 is due Feb 14

If you pay online please see Ms. Hunt, Ms. Berry, Ms. Blair or Mr. Nichols to receive your receipt.

Any student receieving OSS will be ineligible to attend. Any student receiving OSS after March 1st will be ineligible to attend AND will not recieve a refund. Any student failing a course required to graduate one week prior to the trip will be ineligible to attend and will forfeit any money paid. Refunds after March 1st will NOT be gievn if you don't meet the requirements for the trip.

Dress Code For Grad Bash Refunds after March 1st will NOT be given if you do not meet the requirements for the trip.


Baccalaureate is a ceremony that will be in May on a date & at a facility TBD. All Seniors and their Families are invited to be at the 7pm ceremony. There is no limit to the number of family members each senior can bring, but please RSVP so the planning committee is prepared for how many will attend. Bring your RSVP to Admin 1 (front office).
Seniors will need to arrive at TBD at 5:00pm that day, ready to stay until the ceremony is finished. You will wear your graduation gown, not the cap.
There will be a simple reception in the church Fellowship Hall immediately after the ceremony.
*There is a religious element/tradition to this ceremony, therefore it is not a school function. It is completely separate from Graduation and is run by parent volunteers and funded by senior family donations.

Graduation Information

Graduation Practices are TBD. You must attend practices to participate in the Graduation Ceremony!!

Graduation practices will begin at 8:30am in the Cafeteria.
If you are receiving an Honor Cord then you must pay $4 cash only (exact change) to Ms. Hunt at practice.
Graduation will take place in the Wheeler Arena at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, May 20.

Graduation Tickets Policy

Wheeler's process for distributing graduation tickets is as follows:
  • Each student will receive an automatic 2 tickets for graduation.
  • Students may request additional tickets by completing the Graduation 2020 Ticket Request Form, which will be available until April 1, 2020.
  • We cannot guarantee that students will receive the full number of tickets requested, but we will do our best to get each student as close to their requested number as possible.
  • Additional ticket requests can ONLY be made online.
Ticket numbers will be made available to students in Homeroom after Spring Break. Please note that all tickets will be distributed on the last day of graduation practice.
Additionally, per Wheeler policy, students will not receive more than 4 tickets if they fall in any one of the following three categories:
  1. Students who have received any OSS during the 2019-2020 school year.
  2. Students who have more than 15 unexcused tardies during the 2019-2020 school year.
  3. Students who have any outstanding fines, including media center fines, book fines, and parking fines.
  4. Starting with the Class of 2020, there will also be a requirement that students not have more than 20 unexcused block absences. This means that a full day unexcused absence would be 4 blocks unexcused.

Diploma Distribution Policy

Diplomas will be available for pickup after Graduation in the cafeteria. Only students will be allowed to enter the building to proceed to the cafeteria (no family members will be allowed inside). In order to receive their diplomas, students must turn in their graduation gown. They keep their hats and tassels. Additionally, students will be required to complete community service hours on Wheeler's campus prior to receiving their diploma if they fall in one of the following categories:
1. Students who miss any practice, are late to any practice, or leave early from any graduation practice.
2. Students who conduct themselves in any way during the Graduation Ceremony that is not consistent with the distinguished nature of the program.

Senior project

The Senior Project at Wheeler High School is a project required of each Wheeler Senior during their course of 12th grade Literature. Students are required to select a topic on which to base their research paper and turn their research into a real world experience networking to locate, select, and work with a business professional who acts as a mentor to guide them through an internship.
Seniors will sharpen professional skills by completing a series of professional and creative tasks that are part of a work-ready world: designing a functional résumé coupled with a business proposal, a topic-related visual art poster, a letter to judges, a notebook portfolio of their work, a product, and a presentation to be delivered to the community on Senior Project Night.
The Senior Project features faculty-based school committees that instruct and provide feedback to our students during the entire process as well as training presentations in the auditorium designed to coach Seniors through the assignments. Senior Project Committees work with parent volunteers to verify mentors, review résumés, proposals, proclamation posters, letters, portfolios, and help with presentation practice before the night of presentations to a panel of judges.
We believe this experience is the capstone of our students’ high school experience and is an applied opportunity to utilize skills, knowledge, and research. It exposes them to real world applications and expectations as they research their topic, create visuals, write a paper and finally, make a formal presentation to the community. This is a collaborative project that supports our school improvement plan, career and college readiness, as well as communication and organizational skills for our students.
