ALP Gifted Specialist

The Advanced Learning Program services students who are identified as being intellectually gifted. Gifted students are those children who possess a high degree of general intellectual ability and are capable of high academic achievement and performance. These students have the intellectual potential to become high level innovators, evaluators, communicators, problem formulators and/or problem solvers in our complex society.

  • Gifted students need appropriate instruction to achieve
  • Best practices for gifted students include assessment, acceleration, advanced classes and ability grouping
  • Cobb County has more than 14,000 identified gifted students
  • Georgia State law requires five segments per week of Gifted Services for the identified gifted student

Get Involved!

The Cobb Chapter of the Georgia Association for Gifted Children is an advocacy group for parents, educators, administrators, and the public who are interested in gifted education and advanced learning opportunities for children in elementary, middle, and high schools.
