Dear Davis Community,

The time has come!!!  We are all excited to look ahead to a new school year!!  We have taken time to rest and relax and reflect on our learning from last year.  Now we are ready to move ahead!  Our custodial staff has worked tirelessly to make our building shine in anticipation of your arrival.  Teachers are discussing student learning for the coming year in an effort to facilitate learning that is even more engaging and challenging.  Plans are being made by PTA that include all members of our community.

Please help us keep learning and safety at school as priorities.  I encourage you to help your child meet the bus each morning as a way of encouraging him/her to be here at school ready for learning each day.  What a difference such a small step makes in your child’s day!  If you should decide to drive your child to school, please use the carpool line for dropping him/her in front of the school.  When children cross traffic at the carpool line, they just are not as safe as we would like.

Kindergarten parents, we especially want to welcome you to the beginning of your child’s experiences at our very special school.  Since we realize that the first morning may be challenging for you, we want to invite you to join us for a few minutes in the Media Center to gain support from other members of the “Davis Dry-Your-Tears” gang.  Drop off your child in his/her classroom and then come to the Media Center to visit with other families at 7:45-8:00 a.m.

We look forward to seeing all of you on August 8 for Meet and Greet and then again on Monday, August 11 for that special first day of school.  I am looking forward to hearing and seeing the excitement of school in the eyes of children again!
