ASP
What is ASP?
Welcome to our After
School Program! We plan to provide a fun and enriched
program for your child during the school year. Please
read the following information carefully before your
child attends ASP.
-
Every child who
attends the After School Program (ASP) must have a
current ASP registration form on file at our
school. It is the parent’s or guardian’s
responsibility to keep this information current.
-
The ASP program
is a PREPAID program. Pay must be received
prior to attendance. If an unpaid balance remains
your child may not attend ASP.
-
All Cobb County
handbook policies will apply for ASP.
Enrichment
Program
1.
Students will receive a snack and a drink everyday he or
she attends.
2.
All
students will be expected to work on homework during
this time.
3.
ASP
will offer many enrichment programs throughout the year.
Programs such as computer skills, chess, dance, first
aid and safety,
nutrition, fitness and sports, will be an asset to the
ASP program.
Schedule and
Cost
-
Hours of ASP are
from the time school ends until 6:00 pm on the days
school is in session. ASP will run on early release
days.
-
ASP is $7.00 per
day. With a $10.00 registration fee.
-
ASP checks must
be made out to Harmony Leland Elementary.
ASP must be paid separate from lunch money and
field trips. All money should be put in the drop box
in an ASP envelope. Any money written over owed
amount will be credited to account. No money will be
credited!
-
Monthly or
summary statements of student ASP accounts are
available upon request.
Accounting
1. If
your bank returns a check unpaid, the check will be
forwarded to the Districts collection agency. If the
account becomes delinquent,
you will have only 3 days from the time the school
notifies you to bring the account up to date. Failure to
do so will result in your child
being removed from the ASP program. If there is
more than one check returned , only cash or money order
payments will be accepted for the
remainder of the school year.
2. Any
time there is a change in attendance the school must be
notified.
Pick-up Policy
1. To
ensure the safety and security of all students in ASP,
only people designated on the registration form will be
allowed to pick up your child.
Your child must be signed out every day they attend.
2. A
late fee of $1.00 per minute per child will be charged
to the account every minute past 6:00 pm. After 3 late
pick-ups your child will be
withdrawn from the program. If the parent or guardian is
extremely late, to ensure the safety of your child, the
Cobb County Police Department
will be notified.
Discipline
-
The ASP program
is a privilege and each child is expected to behave
properly. The same behavior expectations apply in
ASP as they do during the school day. Inappropriate
behavior may result in suspension or withdrawal of
your child from the program.
-
Students may be
suspended or withdrawn from ASP for the following
reasons:
-
Three late
pick-ups
-
Discipline
problems
-
Nonpayment
of fees
-
Principal’s
discretion
