Dear 6^th Grade Student:

Welcome to McCleskey Middle School!  I hope your summer has been fun and relaxing and that you are eagerly anticipating the beginning of another school year.  We are looking forward to your arrival on the first day of school – Monday, August 11, 2008.

If you previously attended Blackwell, Keheley, or Nicholson, we already have your registration form.  For students new to Cobb County, registration day is Tuesday, July 29 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Please share this important information with any new McCleskey students in your neighborhood.

An important date for you to remember is Thursday, August 7, 2008.  Orientation for 6^th graders and their parents is scheduled from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  We will meet at 4:00 in the theater.  During this time, you will be able to tour the building and learn what “pod” you have been assigned to this year.  You will also be able to check your bus route to make sure you know your bus number and bus lane for the first day of school.

At orientation, you and your parents will also have the opportunity to join PTSA and make a donation in lieu of any PTSA fundraising activities.  We ask for a $35 dollar donation per student or $60 dollars for families with multiple students at McCleskey.  We also encourage all of our parents & students to join PTSA.  Membership is $5 dollars per person.  With one check made out to McCleskey PTSA, a parent can purchase multiple memberships as well as make a donation, which ensures that there are no PTSA sponsored fundraising events.
