  • School's out, now WHAT?

    If
your child loved a movie, introduce him/her to the book.
Join the Club: Libraries offer summer reading programs.
Lighten Up! Look for some funny titles or joke books.
Read magazines or the newspaper together.
Vacations can be excellent opportunities to read together.
Set an example. Be a reader yourself.

We hope everyone has a safe and restful summer.

Somebody pass me the Sun Screen, Summer is Here, and my forehead is sizzling!

-Enjoy the summer break and get much deserved rest. Our staff will be doing the same.

-As our Wonderful Nickajack Families enjoy the time off, I would challenge you to take time for reflection, and goal setting as the summer goes on and our next school year approaches.

-Challenge 1: Spend as much time Reading as you do watching TV or playing Video Games, can you keep the balance?

-Challenge 2: Spend time weekly helping or doing something for someone else for no reason, expecting nothing in return, can you donate time and effort to help someone in need?

-Challenge 3: Exercise / Fun - Spend time being physically active every day this summer, swim, run, jump, ride bikes, can you make healthy choices through the summer for your mind and body?

-Challenge 4: Set goals for next school year. Think of areas where you would like to improve for next school year and work with your parents to make a plan to prepare so that you will not just hope for success, you will GET SUCCESS!

Make sure to have lots and lots of FUN as you tackle these little challenges and above all else Please Be Sure To Be Safe!

I can't wait to hear your stories from the summer as we start back up in August.  See you all then.
