reading for enjoyment and student research projects.

can be used as a look-up station as well as a work station for students
and teachers. Along with many valuable programs, each computer has
Internet access.
Hours
The Powder
Springs Media Center is open from 7:15 a.m. - 2:40 p.m. each day.

every morning. However, checkout does not begin until after morning
announcements, usually around 7:55. Students must have a
library pass from their teachers in order to visit the Media Center
throughout the day.
Policies and
Procedures
The
media center uses flexible scheduling to accommodate students, staff
and parents. This means that the media center is always open
throughout the day to accommodate patrons.
Students in Kindergarten, first and second grades may checkout one book at
a time. Students in third, fourth and fifth fourth and fifth grades may checkout two books at a
time. All students may keep their books for up to two weeks. Any student
who has not finished reading a book within the two week period may renew
his book for an additional two weeks.
Faculty members may check out up to forty books at one time for
thirty days. Please remember to return any books not in use at the
end of each instructional unit. This will give others the
opportunity to have access to the materials that you checked out.
Parents may check out up to three books at a time for a period of
two weeks. We have a Parent Collection that includes books on a wide
variety of topics that you may check out.
Library
patrons are responsible for all books they checkout from the media
center. If a book is damaged or lost while checked out to a patron,
he/she will be responsible for paying the cost of replacing that
book. Patrons will not be allowed to checkout another book until payment is
made. Report cards of those students who owe payment or books to the
media center at the end of the school year will be held.
Reference materials are to be
used in the media center only. Professional journals may be
checked by faculty members only. We welcome volunteers .
Please contact Ms. Greer if you are interested in volunteering.
