The Rocketeers is a bus-ridership program designed to enlist the help of older students to keep the bus ride safe for all students. All 4th and 5th grade students who ride the bus have the opportunity to apply to be a Rocketeer. Rocketeers are selected at least two times a year and are chosen based on their application. The Rocketeers are leaders who take on responsibilities to make the bus ride safer and more pleasant for everyone. All applications MUST be signed by the bus driver and a parent. No late applications will be accepted.
Rocketeer applications are
due Tuesday, August 21st. If you are selected to be a Rocketeer, training is
Thursday and Friday, August 23rd and 24th, from 7:30-8:00 am.
Welcome back to school! If you are having a difficult
time adjusting to Vaughan, please make an appointment with your counselor. You
can sign up to see your counselor in the pupil personnel, which is right across
from the clinic.
All of Vaughan's 5th grade students will attend Lost Mountain Middle School (LMMS). The 5th grade counselor, Mrs. Oakes, will be doing several classroom guidance activities that will help prepare the 5th graders for this transition.
Check out K12 Advisement guide for information on school transition
Safety patrol is a hallway safety program designed to help build leadership qualities in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. All students in those grade levels have the opportunity to try out to become a safety patrol. If chosen, they will attend a short mandatory training and will be on duty at least one morning or afternoon shift per week. Safety patrols will be changed out at least twice a year.
