Be True To Yourself

It’s nice to be liked by others

To have a friend to call sister or brother

But you must remember that your purpose is not to please

Or to become what others wish you to be

But…to be true to yourself

For when the lights are out, and all is quiet and still

You will be the only person with whom you’ll have to live

There’s no greater gift, than the gift of self

So be true to it because in the end

Self is all you’ll have left

Because of You

When you don’t think they love you…they do

When they roll their eyes and pretend they’re not
listening…they are

When you pray that they’ll do the right thing…they will

When they say, “I hate you!”…they might

But not for long

For soon they understand that because of you…they do

Because of you…they are

Because of you…they will

Because of you…they can
