Our Vision
An environment where each individual is accepted, supported,
valued, and challenged to become more.
Our Mission
To assure our citizens literate, confident children who are
interested in learning by providing a relevant curriculum,
facilitated by caring, lifelong learners in a child-centered
environment.
Our History
Our school was name for Mr. Walter Pinkney Addison. Mr. Addison came
to Cobb County as an educator in 1913. He later donated land for an
early county school and also purchased the first school bus. He was
an active participant in the education community for many years.
Addison Elementary opened it s
doors in Cobb County on August, 1988. Addison became Georgia's first
Charter School in 1995. Subsequent Charter renewals in 1998 and 2003
have ensured high academic achievement for all Addison students.
Our school enrollment averages 585
students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Our parent involvement
at Addison boasts 100% PTA membership with an average of 100
volunteer hours logged weekly. Parents are active members of
Addison's Design Teams including a parent member on the Building
Leadership Team.
