Dear Students,

Pigsty is the September Book of the Month. The story is about a little boy called Wendell, whose bedroom was a mess, and he loved it.  When Wendell’s mother took a look at his messy room, she threw up her hands in disappointment and told him he could live in a pigsty if that’s what he wants. Wendell was satisfied with what his mother said.  However, he did not know that soon he would find out that pigs like his room, too.  So, the pigs moved into Wendell’s room two at a time.  Wendell ended up living with four pigs that made the mess a bigger mess. At first, Wendell didn’t mind. He enjoyed playing with the pigs, even though he had to give them his bed and they hogged his pillows and blankets. But after a few incidents, Wendell didn’t enjoy the pigs’ company anymore.  He found hoof prints on his comic books, his basket ball was flat, and his baseball cards were chewed.

My favorite part of the story is when Wendell had so much fun playing with the pigs throwing paper airplanes and having pillow fights. My favorite picture is the one when Wendell and the pigs were sitting on the floor playing monopoly. They looked like they were having a good time, and they looked adorable.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it teaches us that we must clean up after ourselves.  It’s important to keep our bedroom neat and clean.

Love,
