INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS

The Physical Education program at Austell Primary is one you will always remember! It is educational, exciting, challenging, informative and filled with fun loving lessons, activities and programs. All students and parents must be aware of the following:

Participation- All students in Cobb County Public Schools are required to participate in all scheduled physical education classes.

Dress- Attire for participation in physical education classes (Grades K-1) must allow for freedom of movement, safe participation and not cause damage to students, facilities, or equipment. It is recommended that girls wear shorts or pants underneath a dress or skirt. For the safety of your child, do not allow your child to wear boots, sandals, or clogs with heels, jellies, or slip-ons. Socks and sneakers should cover the whole foot.  Students should be prepared for outside cool weather participation. Students are allowed to bring sneakers to class. Sneakers or appropriate flat rubber sole shoes that cover the whole foot are required for class.

Excuses- An excuse in physical education from total participation of any duration of restriction. The term physician means licensed medical doctor. Excuses from chiropractors that relate specifically to problems of skeletal framework, sprains, and excuses related to colds, sinus conditions and illnesses generally treated by medical doctors will not be accepted.
