• October 1st-31st- Child Health Month and Crime Prevention Month

• October 2nd- Read for the Record- Austell Primary is registered to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by joining hundreds of thousands of children and adults in reading the same book on the same day. We had 327 students read Corduroy today.

• October 6th- Club 100 Walking club begins in the Gym- 7:30-7:45AM- M, W, & F. Parents are welcome to join their children as they walk for fitness.
  
   

• October 10th-Pajama Day- Send your child to school in their favorite (appropriate) pajamas for a $1 donation to Relay for Life.

• October 14th- Stevi B's Night- 4-8 PM

• October 15th- Early Release- Students are dismissed 2 hours early. Please make arrangements.

• October 17th- Silly Sock Day- Send your child to school in their silliest socks for a $1 donation to Relay for Life.

• October 20th-24th- Scholastic Book Fairs in the Media Center from 7:10 AM to 3:00 PM. We will be open late on Thursday for a special family event before the PTA meeting. Please join us for our Donuts for Dads (or any parent who want to attend) on Friday morning from 7:10-9:00 AM. We will be giving away fabulous prizes at both events.

• October 23rd- PTA Meeting- Musical "The Oversized, Overripe Turnip" starting at 6:30 PM. The Book Fair will be open from 4 PM to 6:30 PM that evening.

• October 24th- Sports Day- Send your child to school in their favorite Sports Team attire for a $1 donation to Relay for Life.

• October 27th-31st- Red Ribbon Awareness Week. Students and parents, let's take a stance against drugs.

• October 30th- Kindergarten field trip to the Pumpkin Patch.

Accelerated Reader- First AR Period began September 2nd and ends October 10th. All first grade students will begin bringing home Accelerated Reader books to read towards their AR goals. The goals have been set for 3 points each. This means that students will need to read and pass at least 6 books at 100% to meet their goals. Please visit your Home Connect site to monitor your child's progress. Multiage Kindergarteners have slightly lower goals.

• Kroger: Please sign up for Kroger's Earning plus Learning program by clicking on the link, printing off the Parent Letter, and shopping with your Kroger Plus card.

• Target: If you apply for a Target credit card or Target Visa card, Austell Primary will earn 1% on your purchases. Check with your local Target Customer Service desk for more information.

• Publix: This free, easy to use card/key tag saves you money at Publix and earns money for the Austell Primary. Make sure to have your card scanned at the checkout.
