Congratulations!  Barbara Powell-Schager has been awarded the Innovative Reading Grant by the American Association of School Librarians!! 

 

Proposed Projects for Big Shanty

Splost III Funding

 

·      Kitchen Modification: Convert dish washing area to storage, provide new furnishings & equipment, repair doors & frames and refinish area.

·      Sitework: Asphalt Paving – Additional Parking – LSR – provide additional parking

·      Sitework: Erosion Control – LSR – Provide erosion control on hill in bus loading area

·      Thermal & Moisture Protection: Roofing – Reroof buildings 2400, 240A,B,C&F. Metal roofing on sloped areas. Replace Tectum deck with conventional decking.

·      Mechanical: Sprinkler (Fire Suppression) – Add fire suppression system (sprinklers) to the portion of the building, including ceiling replacement.

·      Electrical: Clock – Clock system replacement with GPS technology system.

·      Electrical: Lighting – Retrofit – Replace T-12 lamps and ballasts with T-8 lamps and High Efficiency electronics ballasts.  Fixture replacement.

·      Electrical: Power – Upgrade – LSR – Provide additional power in all areas

·      Obsolete work station replacement

·      District Printer/Copier/Duplicator Solution Replacement

·      District Servers Replacement

·      Obsolete Computing Device Replacement for Every Teacher

·      Maintain District Network

·      Replace and Enhance Existing Phone System district Wide

·      Centralized Video Distribution System

·      Audio Visual Equipment for Each Classroom

·      Interactive Classroom Devices

Thank you, Ms. Kim Davis and Chick-fil-A on Barrett Parkway for visiting Mrs. Gonzales' classroom with the Chick-fil-A cow and rewarding her the Teacher of the Month.  Mrs. Gonzales has been granted $5,000 in markers and writing instruments from the Sharpie Company!  Congratulations, Mrs. Gonzales!

 

Thank you, Ms. Patty Harris and the Chick-fil-A cow from Chastain Road for rewarding Mrs. Wright's 4th grade class for having the second highest AR points in our school, by reading    This Is The Dream to the students.

 

Thank you Kennesaw Mayor Mark Mathews, for visiting Mrs. Hobson's class and sharing information about our local government.

 

Congratulations Elizabeth Johnson, a fourth grader.  She won first place at the Regional and State levels of the Georgia Technology Fair in the category of Technology Literacy.  She also won first place at the Regional and State levels last year.  The Technology Literacy exam tests participants' knowledge of computers and other technologies.

 

 

Thank you, Ferguson Chiropractic, for providing a relaxation training session for our staff on Tuesday, March 4th!  It was calming and reinvigorating!
