Mrs. Rownd has been teaching for 30 years.  She received an Elementary Education degree from the University of Georgia in 1978.  In 1982, she returned to college at the State University of West Georgia to receive a Master’s of Education degree in Middle Grades Education and then received an Educational Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education in 1987.  She began her teaching career teaching 7th and 8^th grade math.  She then changed to elementary school where she has taught 4^th grade, 3^rd grade, Remedial Education, EIP, and presently, Technology Education.  She has been teaching at Big Shanty for 17 years.

Mrs. Rownd has always lived in Cobb County.  She currently lives in Kennesaw with her husband, Bill.  Her daughter, Stacy, is a music teacher in Carroll County.  Mrs. Rownd’s interests include playing computer games, reading, and gardening.  She loves to go water skiing and boating at the lake.
