2007-08:  Charges are allowed again this year up to $4.80. Letters will be sent home on Thursday. These letters are printed Wednesday so there is a one day delay by the time they reach home.  Do not rely on these letters alone. It is up to the parents to keep track of lunch money.

Please send lunch money in a separate envelope marked accordingly, or use the envelopes provided at the register in our cafe', with your child’s LEGAL name as they are registered. The computer does not have middle names, nick names etc.

Breakfast:  We are now serving breakfast. Breakfast starts at 7:15 and all children must be back in the classroom when the bell rings at 7:45. If they are car riders make sure they get their early. Breakfast menus are found on the Big shanty website under lunch menus. Breakfast cost $1.00 for students .30 cents for students on reduced lunch. Students who receive free lunch also receive free breakfast. Adults are $1.25.

Meal Pay:   There has been a change in ownership of MealPay and ALL users will have to re-register after January 1, 2008.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to register your child on the mealpay system.  It is easy to do and will allow you to keep up with your child’s lunch account and/or pay via credit card when the account is low.

 1.  Go to

http://www.cobbk12.org/generalinfo/mealpay.htm

 2.  Read the information about the change then click on the MealPay link on the bottom.  you can click on How It Works to register or go directly to the Register link.  You must have your student’s ID number to register.  You must get your child to get this from their teacher as we are not allowed to give this out over the phone.

 3.  Sign in.  Be sure to make a note of your user name and password.

 4.  This takes you to your account page.  It will show the total balance and also breaks down the amount each child has.

 5.  On the left side, click on the Manage Notifications bar.  This will allow you to receive emails when your child’s account is low and you may also choose to put lunches on your credit card.  (minimum charge is $20).  Just put a radial dot in your choice.  Change the $0.00 to a minimum dollar amount that you want either email notification of the low balance or to add money to the account from your credit card.  (Food services recommends no lower than $5.00 because of possible delays in posting).  Click SET and then click SAVE MY SETTINGS.

 6.  Click on sign out to leave the webpage.

You are now registered with Mealpay and keeping up with your child’s lunch account is easy!  Remember, there is no charging in the cafeteria.

Please discuss with your child about buying “extras” (chips, ice cream, Gatorade, etc.)  If you do not want them to buy extras, you must notify the lunchroom manager in writing.  Please note that once an account is flagged in the computer as “no extras”, there is no exception to this.  If you decide one day that they can get an extra, please send in the cash for that day.  As always, be sure to put your child’s legal name, teacher and grade on any checks or correspondence that you send in to the school.

It is a pleasure to serve your children and we hope that you take advantage of MEALPAY!
