| We at Birney
want to always place the safety of our students first and foremost
in all we do. With safety in mind, we would like to clarify our
procedures for dropping off and/or picking up students in the morning
and afternoons. We want to make sure we have a safe and
smooth process so parents' and students' safety will not be jeopardized.
Parents, please understand the following rules apply to those dropping
off and/or picking up students: *School doors open at 7:05 am. A student who arrives prior to 7:15 will report to the lunchroom. Please do not leave students unattended while waiting to come inside the building. Remember, breakfast begins promptly at 7:05 and ends at 7:40. Car rider students must be in the breakfast line prior to 7:40 to eat and be in class on time. *Individuals driving automobiles must drop off/pick up their students in the front of the building. *Every student picked up in the afternoon as a car rider must receive a number from the front office. *Automobiles must stay in line and may not cut in front of others. This is a hazard to the other vehicles and our children. *Parents, please follow our morning/afternoon routine when dropping off/picking up your children. Cars have to wait in line and students are dropped off/picked up close to the building with adult supervision. This helps to ensure safety for all adults and children. *Automobiles must park in parking spaces only. It is NOT permitted to let students out of the vehicle at any other place in the parking lot. This is for every student's safety. *All students must be dropped off/picked up in front of the school with teacher supervision. It is NOT permitted to let students out of the vehicle at any other place in the parking lot. This is for every student's safety! *Please respect "No Parking" signs. Do not leave vehicles unattended along curbs painted yellow and red. Parents must pick students up prior to 1:45 if they are in a rush and cannot stay in line. These rules must be followed in order to maintain safety for all of our children, so please follow them every time you drop off and pick up your children! |
