Parts of Plants


Introduction:

Have you ever wondered how plants grow?  Did you know that plants have "body" parts just like you do?  Did you know that plants need specific things to grow just like you do?  You will be exploring web sites that will tell you more about them.


Task:

Follow the steps in this Web Quest to find out what plants need to grow, the parts of a plant, and the functions of each plant part.  At the end of this study you should be able to list what plants need to grow, label the parts of a plant, and tell the functions of each plant part.

Activities:

1. Visit the Great Plant Escape Plant Parts Web site to find out each plant part and its function.
2.  Visit the Plant Parts Salad web site to quiz yourself on the parts of plants.


Evaluation:

 Go to Parts of Plants web site and label the parts of a plant and what each part does.


Conclusion:

Complete the worksheet Plant Facts, to show that you understand the parts of a plant, the functions of each part, and what plants need in order to grow.  Discuss the answers to the worksheet.  How well did you do?
