Officer Buckle and Gloria

Introduction:

Gloria the Dog is the true star of Officer Buckle's visits to school children.  As Gloria is doing her flips and jumps, Officer Buckle delivers safety tips to children.  This book teaches important safety tips.

Task:

It is very important to be safe in all aspects of our lives.  Through these activities, you will learn how to be safe, when to be safe, and why to be safe.

Pool Safety Poster (Activity 1)

Safety Bear Coloring Book (Activities 3 and 4)

Elmer the Safety Elephant (Evaluation)

Activities:

1.  Complete the safety quiz using the words provided.  How well did you do? 
2.  Read each myth about a bicycle helmet. What is a bicycle helmet designed to do?
3.  Click on each safety poster.  Read the rule.
4. Click on Safety Bear's Safe Path Home.  Use your mouse to follow the maze.
5.  Read the safety rules for crossing a street.  Watch the cartoon.

Evaluation:

Go to the Elmer the Safety Elephant site listed above.  Select any activity and learn more about safety in your daily activities.

Conclusion:

There are many rules which we can follow to stay safe.  Through this Internet activity, you have learned some safety rules and met safe people and animals.
