Mission Statement of the Cobb County School Counseling Program 

The Mission of the Cobb County School Counseling program is to assist students in overcoming barriers that impede learning.

The goal of all Cobb County Professional School Counselors is to implement a standards-based comprehensive school counseling program that:

bulletIncludes a curriculum addressing the needs of all students in the domains of academic, personal/social, and career development
bulletProvides specialized interventions based on identified student needs
bulletAssists students in acquiring appropriate attitudes, knowledge, and communication skills to promote healthy relationships
bulletEnhances the ability of students to identify and utilize the appropriate resources needed for post-secondary success
bulletCreates positive relationships with students fostering personal growth, service to others, and academic achievement
bulletAdvocates for all students encouraging them to develop to their fullest potential
bulletEncourages counselors to consult and collaborate with other educators, parents, and community on behalf of all students

Mission Statement of the Campbell High School School Counseling Department

The mission of Campbell High School’s school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive program to assist all students, while respecting individual differences, in building their academic skills, career preparedness, and social responsibility.  As student advocates, counselors work with students to identify and remove barriers to learning by promoting an environment that fosters growth, development, life-long learning, personal responsibility, and productivity.  In collaboration with other faculty, parents or guardians, and community, school counselors assist Campbell High School students in obtaining the skills and knowledge to meet the demands of an ever changing world.

 The counselors believe:
bulletEvery student will have equal access to a standards-based comprehensive school counseling program
bulletThe diversity of all students will be considered when planning and delivering the school counseling program
bulletAll students deserve to be treated with dignity and respect
bulletAll students can learn and are capable of being successful
bulletAll students will have access to a qualified professional school counselor

 And that the Campbell High School comprehensive school counseling program should:
bulletIdentify and address the needs of students
bulletUse data to develop, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the program
bulletBe designed and implemented by the counseling team in collaboration with our stakeholders
bulletBe based on the academic, personal/social, and career standards established by the American School Counselor Association
bulletUtilize all available school and community resources to meet the needs of students
bulletConsider the needs of CHS parents and community

 And that all counselors at Campbell High School:
bulletAdhere to the ethical standards as set forth by the American School Counselor Association
bulletParticipate in professional development activities to stay abreast of current trends and information affecting students
bulletAre accountable for assessing the school counseling program and making modifications as necessary to maintain a quality program.
