New student registration is conducted throughout the school year during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. daily.  During the summer and at the beginning of the school year, please check with the School Counseling Office at 678-842-6853 ext. 2  or on the front page of our website for the hours of new student registration; this schedule is based on the availability of counselors and staff for registration.  Those students who are registering for the start of the school year should make every effort to do so prior to the start of the school year.

Please understand that the length of the registration process is dependent on the number of students attempting to register and if all parties have the necessary paperwork in order.  Based on this, we are unable to determine your wait time; however, we will continue registering all parties who arrive prior to the cut off time for registration.  By utilizing this system versus appointment times, we are able to register more students in fewer days which results in less instructional time being lost.  Please plan to allow for ample time for registration.  We appreciate your patience during this process.

I.  In order to register, you must have the following:

bullet

Parent, foster parent, or guardian with picture id accompanying the student unless the student is emancipated (Foster parent must show proof of student placement by the official agency)

bullet

Two documents showing proof of residence (Examples of documents:  home ownership title, current lease or rental agreement, current monthly utility statement, current Georgia driver's license or Georgia ID card, current bank or other financial institution documentation, Cobb County property tax statement, voter registration documentation for Cobb County, or current motor vehicle registration)

If the residence is in the name of a party other than the parent/guardian, he/she must be present for registration as well as the parent/guardian. (Please ask for the statement of legal residence form that must be signed by both parties and notarized.)

bullet

Proof of adequate immunization on Georgia Form 3231 (Can be obtained from the Health Department or private physician)

bullet

Georgia Form 3300, Certificate of Ear, Eye and Dental Examinations

bullet

Proof of promotion to ninth grade if you are a first time ninth grader

bullet

Completed registration papers (all lines, front and back of all three pages)

II.  To expedite the registration process, the following items are recommended:

bullet

Transcript or report cards from previous schools (If you do not have this, please ask for Registration Release No Records form.)

bullet

Special Education records if the student receives special education services

bullet

Disciplinary records

bullet

When you have all items in section number one (I) and the transcript or no records form in section number two (II), you will be given a number for registration.

Grade placement is based upon number of credits at the beginning of the current school year.  Once credits have been converted to our system, the student must have 5 credits for 10th grade, 12 for 11th, and 18 for 12th.
