2007-2008 General Information

 

Who is Eligible to Participate?

All freshmen who live in the Campbell district or attend the IB Program are eligible first semester.  Each student must pass 3 out of 4 classes each semester to remain eligible.  Students must also meet the on track requirements of 4 units entering their sophomore year, 10 units entering their junior year, and 16 units entering their senior year. 

 

Athletic Participation, Insurance and Consent Form

Each year before a student can tryout and participate in a sport, a completed Athletic Participation, Insurance and Consent Form must be completed by a parent/guardian and a physician.  These forms will be available  at cobbk12.org under Athletic Information.

 

Costs

Cobb County provides no funds for sports.  Revenues from ticket sales, concessions and fundraisers must provide the money needed for each sport to buy uniforms, pay officials, etc. 

 

Parent Involvement

Parents will be asked to actively participate in fundraisers. Parents will also be asked to donate their time.  Examples of ways to donate time are concession duty, pre-game meals or snacks, transportation, field preparation, etc.

 

Athletic Booster Club

The Athletic Booster Club is made up of 4 officers, all coaches and a team parent representative for each sport. Its purpose is to provide activities and fundraising opportunities for all sports.  Athletic Booster Club activities include All Sports Program, Scholar Athlete Program, and Spirit Wear Sales. Most sports have individual team booster groups that support that particular sport with fundraising, meals, snacks, etc.

Spartan Sport Passes

Plan on attending many sporting events?  A Spartan Sports Pass is the way to go!

Student--$40:  Allows a student entrance to all regular season home games.

Adult--$75:  Allows an adult entrance to all regular season home games.

Family--$150: Allows a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) entrance to all regular season home games.

Football--$35:  Allows an adult entrance to all regular and preseason home football games.

Adult Non-football--$45: Allows an adult entrance to all regular season home games EXCEPT Football.

Sports passes will be available when you come to pick up your schedule before school starts, PTSA Open House, home varsity football games, during lunch on some Fridays and at other events.

Fall sports start practicing before school begins, on August 10.  Refer to the list found below for start dates and coaches.   Be sure to have your Athletic Participation, Insurance and Consent Form completed and signed before they start.
