Attention Parents!!

In an effort to improve our daily attendance at Campbell Middle School we have designed an “Attendance Lottery” again this year!

Students that are present for a two week period will be entered into a drawing to win a prize. Every two weeks there will be three prizes awarded; one for each grade level

Prizes include CD players, Cameras, Footballs, Basketballs, Six Flags Tickets, Braves Game Tickets, and gift certificates. We will be getting a majority of the prizes through donations.

All your child has to do is come to school. They are supposed to being doing that anyway

Power Over Prejudice Consortium

Ten Campbell Middle School students along with Mr. Schimd and Ms. Sledge went to the Power Over Prejudice Summit at the Georgia Tech University on Friday September 15. This program was created to increase awareness and understanding of the many forms of prejudice that students encounter within their schools. It also provides an educational opportunity and safe forum for students of diverse backgrounds to talk, exchange ideas and interact. Furthermore, it allows students to gain valuable insight into their roles and responsibilities in reducing prejudice and hate. A follow-up presentation will be given to the entire student body of Campbell Middle School. Suggestions made by the students are a Multi-Cultural Week and giving announcements over the morning show. If you would like to help out with the program please contact Mr. Schmid's e-mail: Travis.Schmid@cobbk12.org.

ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance is crucial to maximizing instructional time and continued student achievement.  We need your assistance in ensuring that your child is present at school and on time daily.  Students who are chronically tardy or absent from school miss instructional time that they can never regain.  Students who attend school regularly and actively participate in the learning process will improve academically.

                             Excused Absences

The Georgia Board of Education defines excused absences as:

  1. Personal Illness
  2. A death or serious illness in the immediate family
  3. Recognized religious holidays observed by their faith;
  4. Absences mandated by order of government agencies;
  5. Conditions which render school attendance impossible or hazardous to their health and safety.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Campbell Middle School has an emergency procedure manual that provides step-by-step guidelines for how we should respond to a wide variety of scenarios ranging from tornados and fire to biological threats. These plans are regularly reviewed and updated, and practiced by response drills several times during the school year.

One of the primary means of communicating with parents is through the local news media. These stations include, but are not limited to:

  • WSB-TV
  • WXIA-TV
  • WAGA-TV
  • WGCL-TV
  • WSB-RADIO (AM 750)
  • WGST-RADIO (AM 640)

The Cobb County School District web site (www.cobbk12.org) also will be used for timely communication in the event of an emergency.
