Over and Above
Try these brainteasers at
home and then turn them in to Mrs. Conn for Over and Above credit. Your
responses can be written, drawn or 3D creations.
- Make up a new
constellation that is shaped like an item from a unit you have studied in
Target.
- From the starfish to
flowers and honeycombs – beautiful patterns emerge. Take a stroll outside
with pencil and paper. Sketch some of nature’s shapes. Do you see squares,
triangles, rectangles, etc?
- Write a slogan that
advertises your school, homeroom, or Target class.
- Cut circles, triangles and
squares from construction paper. Make a picture with your shapes.
- Draw a Christmas tree that
represents your family. What kind of ornaments would you use?
- List things you might find
in a media center.
- If there was a prize for
holidays, which would win first, second, and third? Why did you choose these
holidays as winners?
- Keep a moon chart this
month. How many full moons are there this month? On what days do they fall?
How many days could you see the moon and how many times did the clouds cover
your view?

5 triangles, 4 rectangles and 6 circles.
- Design a
postage stamp honoring your favorite book or author
