The Compton Media Center contains over 16,000 items in its collection to support both pleasure reading and research. The Media Center is open each school day for class and student use. Twelve networked computer workstations offers students access to our Athena automated catalog as well as the Accelerated Reader reading management software. Students may come to the media center either individually or in small groups on passes issued by their teachers to check out books, take Accelerated Reader quizzes,  or students may accompany their class for scheduled activities such as storytime, checkout, or skills lessons.  The Media Center is staffed by a National Board certified Media Specialist, Ms. Creighton, and by a Media parapro, Ms. Allen
