Many teachers offer morning help
sessions especially in preparation for tests. Check your student's agenda or
the teacher's blog for dates and times.
Tips and suggestions before contacting a tutor:
- Review
the agenda daily. Make sure that your student is writing all
assignments in the agenda. Have your student show you all
completed assignments (even if he or she tells you that it was completed
at school). There are other wonderful organizational tips in the
agenda.
- Call the
Homework Hotline. Phone numbers for each team can be found in the
agenda.
- Utilize
I-Parent. I-Parent is an on-line tool to help parents track
student grades and progress.
- Have your
child participate in study sessions. Many teachers offer study
sessions for students prior to tests. Contact your child’s teacher
to find out more information.
- If your
child continues to struggle, contact the school counselor for your
student’s grade level. There may be resources available to support
your child academically or behaviorally.
