Exploratory Behavior Management Plan

EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Attend school regularly and be on time to class.
  2. Enter the classroom in an orderly manner.
  3. Bring appropriate materials to class.
  4. Take proper care of equipment and class materials.
  5. Talk at appropriate times and use acceptable language.
  6. Display appropriate respect toward other students, teachers, and speakers.
  7. Exhibit appropriate behavior on field trips.
  8. Adhere to policies outlined in student handbook.

RESULTS OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR:

Students will be given a conduct grade for each nine-week period.  Conduct cuts will be given for the following:

1 Cut      Talking after being asked not to talk

                Use of gum, drinks, or food in class. (Determined by classroom teacher)

                Improper use of electronic equipment (Cell phones, CD players, etc.)

                Throwing paper or other items in class.

                Placing feet on desks or chairs and/or leaning on the two back legs of a chair.

                Being out of area

 2 Cuts    Disruptive behavior that interferes with the class.

                Disrespect or disobedience.

 5 Cuts    Destroying or taking school equipment or materials.

Any situation that requires the immediate attention of the administration team—such as fighting, defiant behavior, use of inappropriate language or pictures, etc.

 

DISCIPLINARY ACTION AS APPROPRIATE:

                Verbal “One-on-One Warning” with student.

                Conduct cut placed in teacher’s notebook.

                Individual isolation.

                Written communication home.

                Documented verbal parent contact.

                Detention.

                Student denied participation in field trips.

                Behavior referral.

                Behavior contract.

 Cheating – 1st offense of cheating will result in a failing grade on the assignment and phone contact with the parent; the 2nd offense will result in a failing grade on the assignment and administrative referral.

 CUT SYSTEM CONVERTED TO CONDUCT GRADE

 S 0-4 Cuts                              N 5-6 Cuts                             U 7 or more Cuts

A student may improve their conduct grade by dropping one cut for every 5 consecutive school days present with no additional infractions.

 I have discussed this Exploratory Behavior Management Plan with my parent(s)/guardian(s) and will abide by these rules.
