Introduction: 

Who was the most famous American Popular Music "idol"?  Can you and one other music agent present two candidates to compete in an "idol" competition?

 

Task: 

 You are a music agent.  You and a partner must choose two musicians to compete in a contest of 20th century popular musicians.  Do you have what it takes?  Can you choose the next “20th Century Popular Music Idol”?

 

Process: 

 

 

 

1. You must choose a partner with which to collaborate.

  

2. You and your partner must choose two American musicians.  One musician should be from 1900 -1950 and one musician should be from 1950 – present.

 

3. You may research musicians from these websites.

     American Music From 1950 to 1990s

     American Popular Music 1900 to 1950

 

 4. Once you have chosen two musicians, you must open, print, and fill in a Research Outline.

 

 

5. You and your partner must decide on a presentation.  You may either choose a power point slide show or a poster/speech/recorded examples presentation.
