Classroom Guidance - The counselor goes into each classroom and talks with the entire class about topics such as self-awareness, peer relations, study skills, emotion management, communication skills, goal-setting, and problem-solving.
Individual Counseling - The counselor is available to talk with a student if the concern is personal or if the student prefers to relate on an individual basis.
Small Group Counseling - The counselor invites students who share common concerns to meet weekly with her in her office. Some of these student concerns may include handling stress, self-concept, study skills, loss, peer relations, and changing families. Students are usually referred to focus group activities by teachers and parents; sometimes a student self-refers.
