Dear Parents,
Walton will once again be offering the Summer Enrichment Program for all rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. The program will begin June 4 and run through June 29. It will again be divided into two sessions each day, Monday through Friday. Your student may attend both sessions or one each day. The morning session begins at 8:00am and runs until 10:30am. The second session starts at 11:00am and is over at 1:30pm.
This program is designed not only to benefit those students who want to get ahead by completing required summer readings in English and Social Studies, but also to help students who need additional instruction in Science, Foreign Language, or Math. SAT Review and Study Skills classes are also being offered. Walton teachers will be teaching the classes and working with the students on SAT tutoring.
As a rising 9th grader, your student will benefit from instruction by Walton teachers who know the curriculum as well as the importance of good study habits needed to be successful at the high school level. The attached registration explains the areas that will be offered and material that will be covered.
Students who accumulate 37.2 hours of class during this time will receive ½ unit of Study Skills credit on their transcripts. These hours can accrue by attending one session every day for the four weeks of the program, or by doubling up on hours if a class is missed.
Please complete the attached registration form and return it to Walton High School. Unless you are otherwise notified, your student will be enrolled and should report to the Media Center by 8:00 on Monday, June 4.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Judy McNeill
Associate Principal
