My Classes

Chorus
The Dickerson choruses are very large and
popular here at Dickerson. We work to produce the best sound possible through
breath support, diction, dynamics, articulation, vocal production, and
many other choral techniques. We sing a variety of music from multi-cultural
pieces to the choral masters. I believe that together as a chorus we can
create beautiful music that we could not create on our own. Every voice in our
chorus is vitally important to our sound. All of the choral students at
Dickerson participate in the fall concert, performance evaluation assessment,
and the spring concert. Often we have other performances that
I have not listed above. We will add performances should a quality
educational opportunity arise. The Dickerson choruses students may
audition for all-state, and/or honor chorus. These are enrichment
activities for students who are interested in furthering their music education.
7th Grade Chorus
The seventh grade chorus is
a beginning chorus. We learn about proper breath support, good
tone quality, diction, dynamics, balance, blend, articulation, intonation,
phrasing, sight singing, part-singing, and performance behavior.
8th Grade Chorus
The eighth grade chorus builds
on skills learned from the previous year. Along with continuing to fine
tune the above criteria, eighth grade students sing in many languages,
sing three and four part harmony, and sing more challenging music.
