Class was spent today working on a flipbook with information on Georgia's five geographic regions.
   The Coastal Plain
   The Piedmont
   The Ridge & Valley
   The Blue Ridge
   The Appalachian Plateau

Students used three sheets of paper to make a flipbook as illustrated
Here.  They then glued a Map of Georgia to the back of the flip book.  On each page of the flipbook, information on the region was written and a picture of the region was drawn.  An illustration of this can be seen Here.

Students worked on these flipbooks during class and will finish them in class tomorrow, or they will be completed for homework tomorrow night.

The Take Home Geography was graded and collected at the start of class today.  Students reviewed answers and made corrections on their own tests.

The remainder of class was spent gathering information from yesterday's flipbook.  The flipbook will be a great study guide for Friday's regions quiz.

We graded the 5-Region flipbook that was started on Monday to begin class.  We also discussed the reason all of Georgia's lakes are man made as we completed today's trivia question.

The remainder of class was spent with a PowerPoint on Water Resources in GA.  In the PowerPoint, Georgia's lakes and aquifers were discussed.

At the start of class, students who had yet to fill out the Student Information Form were reminded to do so.

We then watched a short Video on the Okefenokee Swamp after discussing the "Seven Wonders of Georgia."
   The Okefenokee Swamp
   Warm Springs
   Radium Springs
   Tallulah Gorge
   Stone Mountain
   Amicalola Falls
   Providence Canyon

Students then completed a
Reading Guide on Climate.  If the reading guide was completed, students spent time studying Georgia's five geographic regions to prepare for the region quiz tomorrow.

Students' books were checked to make sure that they were covered.  If a student's book was covered, the student received 5/5 for an assignment grade.

We then took the regions quiz and graded it.

The remainder of class was spent working on the Georgia Map Project.  This assignment will be completed by groups in class and will serve in place of a test for the Geography unit we are completing.  This assignment will be worked on during Monday's class next week and during part of Tuesday's class meeting.
