Education Place Kids' games and activities for math, reading, language arts, social studies, and more!  This is appropriate for grades K - 5.
Book Adventure Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 6,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read offline, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Book Adventure was created by the Sylvan Learning Foundation and is a non-profit organization.
Star Fall The Starfall learn-to-read program was created to meet the needs of the emergent reader by incorporating rhyming games and high-interest books that teach phonemic awareness (sounds in words), phonics, decoding skills, and comprehension. The program is designed to instill confidence and enable the child to proceed as quickly as possible to a balanced reading program.
PBS Kids This site is a wonderful place to visit and play with all the great characters at PBS.
Sports Illustrated for Kids This site has wonderful activities for the sports fanatic.  The password for this site is AIR23.  It must be entered in all capital letters.
Fun School  The site offers more than 300 interactive games and activities for preschool through 6th grade that are fun, easy-to-use, educational activities ranging from matching numbers and shapes for pre-schoolers, to geography, math and history for third through sixth graders. Although activities are designed to be entertaining, they are intended to communicate educational concepts in an effective manner.  Funschool is a proven popular, trusted provider of interactive online games in a safe online learning community.
Nabisco This is a great fun site when you need a break from studying!
Yahooligans This site is created by yahoo, the largest search engine on the Internet.  This is the kids' version that has safety filters built in for safe searches.  It also has kid appropriate activities and links.
www.kids.gov This site is developed and maintained by the Federal Citizen Information Center.. It provides links to Federal kids' sites along with some of the best kids' sites from other organizations all grouped by subject. Explore, learn, have fun!

This site lists kids sites found on the net.  This is a commercial site, so there are a few advertisements, but they are minimal.
Kids Excellent Links This is a very kid-friendly site.  The bright colors and transitions make it exciting to use.  It has everything from Search Tools to Literature, and even Homework Help.
Cobb Online Resources

 

Cobb County School District provides a number of online resources to Cobb students and staff.  These resources may be used at school and at home.  A login and password will be required when using the resources at home.
Nettrekker Nettrekker is the award-winning search engine for schools!  Nettrekker provides a safe way for students to search the Internet for school projects with high quality, contextual results.  And, Nettrekker provides educators with easy access to online resources, including lesson plans and learning exercises that link directly to your state's standards and benchmarks.
Kids Excellent Links Jill Dembsky has created an awesome site that she updates often.  This is a very user friendly site.  The bright colors and transitions make it exciting to use.  She has really done her homework making this a wonderful tool for teachers.

AOL at School This site applies America Online's focus on convenience and ease of use to teachers providing a variety of age-appropriate educational content.
www.gaggle.net This is a free email service for students with good teacher controls and filters.  They will call your school to make sure that you are a teacher before allowing you to sign up your students.  Advertisements are kid safe.
Thinklinks Each ThinkLink site is a supplementary, standards-based, web delivered unit designed to enhance student involvement and learning. The ThinkLink activities are inquiry-oriented in which some or all of the information that students interact with comes from resources on the Internet. Critical thinking skills are utilized in each ThinkLink unit to interpret, analyze, evaluate, and draw inferences from information obtained from Internet resources.
