  The Eastvalley Elementary School Foundation Foreign Language Program

Toward the end of last year, the Eastvalley Foundation started a French language after-school enrichment program.  It was a big success and we are planning on continuing this year.  And, we are happy to say that we have found two Spanish teachers.

The enrichment programs will be offered through the after-school program.  This means that in order to attend the classes, your child must be enrolled in the after-school program. The cost for after-school is a one-time $10.00 registration fee and $7.00 per day. There is no additional cost for the language program.

There is limited space available in each foreign language class, 12 students in kindergarten through second grade, and 15 students in third through fifth grades.  The students who attended French last year will be offered spots first in the French classes.  All other applicants will be picked on a random basis until the available spots have been filled.

The only requirements to be accepted into the class, is first a commitment to attending the class.  That means if you are attending school the day the classes meet, you are expected to attend the enrichment program as well. Each foreign language class will be held two days per week.  Second, you must pay for and not be delinquent in paying for the after-school program. Third, your child/children must behave in an appropriate manner and not be disruptive to the learning environment.

Spanish is offered Monday and Wednesdays for kindergarten through second grade and Tuesday and Thursdays for third through fifth grades.  French is offered Tuesday and Thursdays for all ages. We will begin classes the week of September 19 through the December holidays.  We will offer second semester classes after the winter holidays, giving priority to the previously enrolled students and then accepting any new students.

We are offering commemorative bricks for sale to raise funds for the foundation. Leave a lasting impression for generations to come. Bricks can be inscribed with your choice of names, dates, or phrases. Inscribed bricks will be used to create walkways around school grounds. Download the Brick Order Form here .
