Welcome to Eastvalley's home page. Our doors are always open, and we welcome you to stop by for a visit! Eastvalley is widely recognized for its excellence in meeting children's educational needs. This school opened its doors and the PTA convened its charter together in 1960. Eastvalley Elementary was built on the site of a former sand bed and was given its name by the developer of the area. Enrollment was originally 350 students in the first through eighth grades. In its thirty-eight years, the enrollment of Eastvalley grew to over 500 students and at one point was nearly 700 students in kindergarten through fifth grades. I am proud to be Eastvalley's eighth principal. Active parents and community members as well as changes in the area have significantly impacted Eastvalley in recent years. In August 1990, Eastvalley was named a charter member of the Georgia League of Professional Schools and is the only Cobb School to be a charter member. The School Improvement Team, formed in 1989-90, is the core group of the effective change process, in conjunction with Task Forces and Liaison Groups. Eastvalley was a National P.E. Model Demonstration school for three years because of its outstanding instructional program. In 1993, Eastvalley was named a Georgia School of the Future. In 1994 the school was named a Georgia School of Excellence, and was also designated a 1994 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education. In July 1996. Eastvalley was named a Georgia Charter School by the Georgia State Department of Education. The Eastvalley PTA has been instrumental in supporting these significant changes and in 1993 was named the Most Outstanding PTA in the state of Georgia. The Eastvalley PTA continues to support the school in innovative directions and has recently formed a committee to investigate the formation of a foundation at Eastvalley. We continue to soar …. "Come Soar with Us" Sincerely, Althea Singletary Principal
