Student Council

Eastvalley Student Council serves as the governing body to ensure that all students have a say in the operation of our school. It is through our Student Council, that every student's ideas can be heard. Eastvalley has a Student Council to keep the students, teachers, and principal informed of each others' ideas, needs, and opinions.

During the 2002-2003 school year, Student Council will meet approximately once a month for an hour after school. It is comprised of a President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, two representatives from each class, and two sponsors, Ms. Ely and Ms. Bucci. Students and sponsors will adjourn to carry out a specific agenda set forth by the Student Council officers and sponsors. Parliamentary procedure will be the method utilized in executing meetings. Student Council members are then responsible  for reporting any information, sharing action decisions, discussing upcoming events, requesting ideas and opinions, and addressing any open concerns.

Student Council is excited about participating in several upcoming projects this year. Possible projects include:

  • Designing, implementing, and overseeing a Pledge Committee Against Gun Violence

  • Assisting the PTA in serving families during "Noodle Night"

  • Implementing and supporting a classroom recycling project

  • Initiating a school-wide Earth Day project

  • Sponsor our school spirit week

  • Supporting our PTA by providing hands-on assistance

  • Extend our support to the Red Cross by implementing a "Penny Power" fundraiser

The Student Council will also host several fundraisers in order to support Eastvalley. We hope to conduct bake sales and chicken biscuit sales prior to PTA meetings. When the county water ban is lifted, we will host our annual car wash in conjunction with one of our Partners in Education, Chick-Fil-A. Eastvalley's Student Council looks forward to a wonderful, productive year!!!
