Run the Final Lap for the Science Lab

Parents,

Dear Ford Elementary Families:

Thank you VERY much for supporting Ford Elementary’s first ever Boosterthon Fun Run!  We have all come together and done an incredible job to help our school reach our goal of a new Science Lab!!

While the Boosterthon Fun Run involved EVERY CHILD regardless of financial participation, 80% of Ford Elem. students participated financially in the program!  What a great time of team building it has been!  Here are a few of the facts:

·         As a whole, the students averaged 31.8 laps at the Boosterthon Fun Run (this is about 2 miles)

·         A total of 26,792 laps were run by Ford Elem students (this is 1,685 miles)…or simply put -  our students  “ran” to the  Grand Canyon yesterday.  Now that’s dreaming BIG!!!

·         Pledges have been received from 49 states and over 10 different countries

·         Over 20 classrooms received pledges from at least 20 different states & countries

·         If we collect 90% of our pledges, we will have raised close to $40,000 for the Science Lab, our classrooms and students of Ford Elementary.

Also, two classrooms will enjoy a Pizza celebration from Cici’s Pizza by accomplishing the following:

 ·         The classroom with the top % of pledges collected by December 2nd

 ·         The classroom with the top dollar amount collected

Please use the red collection envelope provided for your child to use when collecting pledges. Please return this envelope by Tuesday, December 2ndChecks should be made payable to CCSF - Ford ES Foundation.   Remember all contributions are 100% tax deductible!  10% of the collections will go directly back to the classrooms!

Now the final lap has to be run. Let’s make it 100% at Ford Elementary! It is so important to bring in the pledges dollars in order to make the Science Lab a reality.

Thank you, again, for supporting academic excellence at Ford Elementary School!

Representative Earl Ehrhart Reads Corduroy to Ford Families

House Representative, Earl Ehrhart read the book Corduroy by Don Freeman to Ford Elementary students and families. Rep. Ehrhart read to a record number of listeners by reading  the book on the FMN Ford Mustang Newscast while students and parents watched from the cafeteria and classrooms.  This was part of the  Read for the Record  program.  We at Ford are anxiously awaiting the winner of this contest.  The winning school will receive $1,000 dollars toward books for the school library.

Many thanks to Rep. Ehrhart for taking time from his busy schedule to help put more books into students' hands!   Return to to top
