Welcome to H.A.V.E.N. Academy...

...one of twenty-four programs that comprise the Georgia Network of Education and Therapeutic Support (G-NETS).  G-NETS is state funded and mandated to provide services to students with Severe Emotional Behavior Disorders and Autism.  H.A.V.E.N. Academy, formerly known as the Cobb Douglas Psychoeducational Program, serves students from Cobb and Douglas counties and Marietta City Schools.  As a regional program, our consumers are the home schools represented by our student population.  In the 2005/6 school year, 410 students from kindergarten through high school attended H.A.V.E.N. Academy.  Our staff is comprised of over 200 certified and classified professionals committed to making a difference for our students and providing the necessary (and essential) academic, social-emotional, communication, and adaptive skills necessary for student success both within, and outside of the classroom.

Given the demographics of our student population and the size of the geographical area, H.A.V.E.N. Academy has expanded to campus-based programs i.e. Fitzhugh Lee, and Hawthorne Center.  Both facilities are located in Smyrna, GA.  Satellite and Transitions classes are dispersed among 17 different Elementary, Middle, and High schools in Cobb County.  Douglas county has 11 classes located at Factory Shoals Elementary, Chestnut Log Middle, and Alexander High schools.

H.A.V.E.N. Academy is driven by the belief that H.A.V.E.N. Academy is the best placement for students to learn how to be productive, contributive members of society in the least restrictive setting.  H.A.V.E.N. strives to provide a continuum of services that ensure that services are well-matched to each student's unique needs, and that successful reintegration remains our primary goal.

I encourage you to further explore our website to see what educational and therapeutic services H.A.V.E.N. offers, and how these services serve to meet both student, and program goals.

Thank You,

Marianne Weidner
