TRACKS TO EXCELLENCE

The goal of this program is to recognize students for their school involvement, community and home service, and self-improvement.  Students earn twelve letter/symbol awards for accomplishments.

At the mid-point (after the paw print), a Husky paw pin will be awarded.  Upon completion of all twelve letters/symbols, the student will become members of the HTMS MIDDLE SCHOOL HUSKY PRIDE GROUP.

Students will choose a specified number of activities from three categories to complete during their middle school career:  Excellence at School, Excellence at Home and in the Community, and Excellence in Self-Improvement.

A sample of activities under Excellence at School includes: perfect attendance for a nine week grading period, participation in intramurals, sports, clubs or school sponsored contests and events.

Excellence at Home and in the Community includes activities such as regular volunteer work, community service, or active involvement in a community club or organization.

Examples of Excellence in Self-Improvement are taking regular lessons in areas like piano, horseback riding, or reading.

All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are eligible to participate in the program.  The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are to follow all the rules of the program as stated, with activities beginning the summer before 6th grade, and ending with 8th grade in May (3 summers, 3 school years).

Each of these activities will be recorded and rewarded with school recognition.  Each student will receive a copy of the rules and information outlining the program.
