Organizational Characteristics

Elementary Level Organization

  • Twenty-nine regular education classrooms
    • Early Intervention Program models:
      • Kindergarten – Pull-out program serves 36 students
      • First Grade – 3 Reduced Class Size Classrooms
      • Second Grade – 3 Reduced Class Size Classrooms
      • Third Grade – 2 Reduced Class Size Classrooms
      • Fourth Grade – 2 Reduced Class Size Classrooms
      • Fifth Grade – 2 Reduced Class Size Classrooms
    • All students that participate in CRCT are included in regular education classrooms for instructional content each day
    • Special Education Teachers co-teach language arts  with 2 fifth grade classes and one fourth grade class
    • ESOL – 1.5 Tutors provide ESOL instruction to small groups of students in a pull-out model

In addition, Keheley's staff members include

  • 1 full-time guidance counselor (intermediate) and 1 half-time guidance counselor (primary)
  • 1 art teacher
  • 1 music teacher
  • 1 physical education teacher
  • 1 media specialist

The support staff consists of

  • 1 full-time secretary
  • 1 part-time bookkeeper
  • 1 full-time office clerk and one part-time clerk
  • 9 instructional paraprofessionals
  • 1 clinic nurse
  • 3 full-time custodians
  • 1 cafeteria manager, 5 cafeteria staff members, and 2 lunchroom monitors
  • Keheley's after-school program staff includes a director, a part-time bookkeeper, a part-time clerk, and 8 adult workers to supervise the 100 students that stay on any given day.
  • Two Area 4 Lead Teachers (ALTs), provide support for our teachers, students, and their instructional needs.
  • School Decision Making Organization
    Every certified staff member serves on one or more of the following committees to help make instructional and operational decisions.

    CORE Team (Building Leadership Team)

    • Planning operations
    • School Business
    • Communicating to teams
    • Helps to make decisions that support the School Improvement Plan
    • Monitor instruction and assessments

    SIP Team

    • Review and analyze data to determine focus of SIP
    • Review and edit SIP for final submission
    • 07-08 SIP monitoring
    • SIP data reports

    Collaborative Data Team (at each grade level with Sp. Ed. teacher on team)

    • Collect and coordinate grade level data for SIP
    • Monthly data team meetings focus on analysis of student work and data; collaborative planning of instruction to meet student needs

    Vertical Action Teams

    • K-5 teams review implementation of SIP instructional strategies, student expectations and instructional planning

    Grade Level Teams and Specialists Team

    • Address instructional and operational issues specific to grade level teams

    Technology Team

    • Work with Media Specialist to schedule and coordinate classroom technology lessons
    • Communicate the technology needs of each grade level
    • Training and support contact for staff blogs and technology integrated lessons

    School Wellness

    • Follow Cobb County Wellness program
    • Develop staff and student wellness programs

    Climate

    • Counselors and all paraprofessionals
    • Outreach/Hospitality (Provides flowers, cards, showers, parties, etc.)
    • Activities and initiatives to support positive school culture
