SAT Registration Information:
You can sign up at
www.collegeboard.com or pick up a paper registration
folder from guidance. We recommend Juniors who have finished
Algebra II to take the SAT in the spring of their Junior year.
PSAT
The PSAT will be held on
Wednesday, October 17th at 8:20 am at Kell. All tenth graders
will be tested. Ninth graders and eleventh graders can take it
as well if they pay $13 to the guidance dept. We will have a
drop box along with envelopes available during the Parent
Teacher night (Open House) and from that point on in the
guidance office for registration. Deadline to register is
9/15!
All students who participate in
PSAT will have FREE access to College Board's "MyRoad,"
a comprehensive college and career planning site that typically
costs $19.95 if you purchase a yearly subscription. To view a
PowerPoint Presentation created by College Board about PSAT,
click
here.
In addition to having access to
MyRoad and being one of the best SAT prep opportunities, it is
also the qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship
Competition. All juniors who take this exam will be eligible
for consideration. Being recognized as a National Merit Scholar
is one of the nation's most prestigious commendations for those
students who qualify. In addition, many colleges provide
additional awards/benefits for those students who chose to
attend their campus. This is the only opportunity to enter, so
don't miss out!
College Board also has this
great PSAT guide for parents.
