Description: Students will explore many drawing techniques through various medias, such as graphite pencil, pen and ink, oil pastels, soft pastels, charcoal, and watercolor.  An emphasis on drawing skills will be achieved, as students will learn how to draw from life as well as how to create abstract compositions.  This course also examines solutions to drawing problems through the exploration of student drawings and those of other artists.  Students will also explore a variety of two-dimensional works of art created by past and present artists.  This course is a pre-requisite for Photography IA and Drawing and Painting IA.
