Mission and School Improvement Goals

The mission and beliefs of Kell High School have emerged through a process of collaboration bringing together new and existing ideas to form a firm vision that will unite faculty, students, and community leaders.

Mission
The mission of Kell High School is to develop responsible citizens equipped with the necessary communication skills in a nurturing and secure environment to be productive in a changing and diverse society.

Beliefs
In keeping with the philosophy developed by the faculty and staff of Kell High School, our beliefs are as follows:

1. Student learning is the priority of Kell High School.
    

2. Students must be provided instruction and experiences that will allow them to lead productive lives.
    

3. Writing is an essential life-long skill that develops critical thinking abilities.
    

4. It is essential to provide students opportunities to become effective decision-makers.
    

5. Cultural diversity increases students' understanding of all people/cultures.
    

6. On-going assessment of student learning provides a variety of opportunities to demonstrate achievement.
    

7. Technology is a tool that enhances curriculum, instruction, and student achievement.
    

8. It is imperative to establish and maintain honest open communication with parents, students and the school community. 
    

9. It is worthwhile to provide students with extracurricular activities that will help them develop socially, academically, physically, and culturally.
    

10. Students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.
     

11. A safe, secure learning environment for all students is essential.
     

12. Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning styles.

School Improvement Goals

1. All students will demonstrate increased proficiency in problem-solving and analysis.
    

2. All students will demonstrate increased proficiency in vocabulary development, reading comprehension and writing skills.
    

3. Improve school performance by organizing the learning environment to meet the needs of all students.
