Your group has been selected to draw maps of Georgia picturing different historical times. You will preview examples of maps, select a time period, learn about map elements, and design a map. Good luck! |
#1 Task Definition

The Task You will locate maps of Georgia for examples. Planned research activities will help you determine what features should be included in your map. Your group will determine the method to create your map - drawing on a poster board or tag board, or using KidPix to electronically create a map. Using the information you collected, your group will then create a map that depicts Georgia, Cobb County, or Powder Springs. The Product |
#2 Information Seeking Strategies

Your first activity is to select the
map that you want to work on in small group. Your group has already
decided to create a Cherokee Nation map, an historical Georgia map, and a
map of current Powder Springs.
Next, we will discuss the necessary
elements of a map and use atlases to locate examples of these elements.
