Red Ribbon Week

October 17 – October 21, 2005

Dear Kemp Families,

Red Ribbon Week is a time for our students, staff, parents, and community to commit themselves to leading a drug free life.  During the first two weeks of October, your children have participated in classroom guidance lessons teaching the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and smoking.  To remind us to say no to drugs, we have planned the following themes and dress up activities for that week.  Please remember, these activities are optional.

Monday          “A Sea of Red” – Wear red clothes

Tuesday          “Tie Down Drugs” – Wear one of your Dad’s ties

Wednesday     “Sock it to Drugs” – Wear your silly socks

Thursday        “Give Drugs the Slip” – Wear your slippers.  (If you have PE this day, please bring socks and tennis shoes to change into.)

Friday             Team Up Against Drugs” – Wear your favorite sports team clothing

Sincerely,

Jenni Briggs and Joan Vanderslice
