ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1.
Please remember that you must meet all graduation
requirements to participate in graduation exercises.
2.
All fees for lost or damaged textbooks, media
materials, parking fees, classroom instructional equipment,
uniforms, or anything else owed to the school, must be cleared
before the first rehearsal on Wednesday. Payments must be made in
cash only. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to participate in
graduation ceremonies. Address questions to Ms. LaBroad.
3.
On final exam days and practice days, seniors may be
dismissed early. Please leave the campus after the activity is
completed and do not visit other campuses. Underclassmen will be
reviewing and taking exams.
4.
Fill out a “Request for Final Transcript” form in the
Guidance Office as soon possible if you are planning to attend
college this summer or fall (remember that there is a $2.00
charge). You will not be officially admitted until the college
receives the final transcript.
5.
The organizations’ sponsors will give honor stoles for honor
societies/clubs to students. Cords for honor graduates (students
with a 3.5 or above GPA-not rounded off) and service cords will be
given to students at practice on Thursday or Friday
Please do not do anything to jeopardize
your participation in the graduation activities. Commencement is a
privilege.
GRADUATION PRACTICE INFORMATION
All practices are mandatory; school
dress code is in effect
6.
Seniors must be present and on time for all practices.
Seniors who miss a practice may not be eligible to participate in
the graduation ceremony.
7.
Graduation practices are school activities; therefore, all
school rules and regulations, including dress code policies,
will be enforced.
8.
Take your graduation gown out of the package prior to
graduation and hang it up so wrinkles will fall out. Use a cool
iron to press, if necessary.
9.
Each graduate will receive four (4) tickets. Tickets
will be disbursed at the final practice. All guests attending
graduation, including babies and small children, will need a ticket.
GRADUATION DAY
10.
Arrive at the graduation site by 1 p.m. Parking is
available on the Kennesaw State University campus in the East
Parking Deck (#9 on the campus map, the East Parking Lot (across
Frey Road from the East Parking Deck, and other lots as noted on the
map.
11.
Tassels should be worn on the left side of the cap. Caps
should be worn flat on top of the head, not on the back, with the
shorter point just above the eyebrows.
12.
Dress for graduates will be as follows. Gentlemen:
black pants, black shoes and black socks, white shirt, and dark
tie. Ladies: solid colored dark dress (length no longer
than the gown; collars should not show) or black dress slacks,
simple small jewelry (no necklaces), and black dress shoes (no
white hosiery, please).
13.
Behavior at the ceremony and practices must be exemplary.
Throwing caps in the convocation center is inappropriate and
dangerous and will not be permitted. Please understand that
disruption and misconduct in any form will not be tolerated.
Balloons, posters and camera tripods are not permitted in the
Convocation Center. Any senior who causes a disturbance or in any
way conducts himself inappropriately during the ceremony will be
removed and will not receive his diploma on the day of graduation.
14.
A video company will be filming the graduation ceremony, and
Lifetouch will have photographs for purchase as each graduate
receives his/her diploma. Parents may not be in the aisles or at
the front to film or take photographs.

handicapped guests. Handicapped guests and one assistant will be
permitted in at 1:30 p.m.
16.
Following the ceremony, family and friends may meet the
graduates at the Campus Green directly after graduation. Upon
exiting the Convocation Center through the Atrium, bear to the left
to get to the Campus Green.
17.
Students will return to the original Kennesaw State Gymnasium
immediately following the graduation ceremony to receive their
diplomas from their homeroom teachers.
