History
Kennesaw Mountain Battle Field

Kennesaw Mountain High School is located near the City of Kennesaw. Kennesaw residents appreciate the City as a great place to live, learn, work and play. The City is also well known for its rich history. Residents enjoy the City’s combination of small town charm and big city amenities. Once the site of major fighting during the Civil War, Kennesaw has emerged as a premiere destination for families and businesses looking to relocate in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Kennesaw takes great pride in being a community that protects and manages its historical and cultural resources for future generations.

New attractions, including the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History, improved public areas, and renovated buildings with delightfully eclectic shops, restaurants and businesses create an atmosphere of commerce in the City. Kennesaw’s Parks & Recreation programs, special events and facilities, street and sanitation services, environmental initiatives, and a strong, caring Police Department play a central role in supporting and sustaining the livability and economic vitality of the City.

Feeder Schools

Kennesaw Mountain High School has been reaching out to both middle and elementary feeder schools. We encourage our students to get involved with the younger generations and help them participate in the community. Currently, Kennesaw Mountain High school is helping the elementary feeder schools of Frey, Lewis, Bullard, Cheatham Hill, Still, and Hayes. We are also participating with our two secondary feeder schools, Pine Mountain and Durham. With this feeder involvement, students hope to keep the next generations participating in the community.

Campus Life

No matter what time of day you visit Kennesaw Mountain High School, you will always find something going on. Students at Kennesaw Mountain High School are extremely active in athletics, clubs, organizations and other school activities that participate in events on campus and around the local community.

When pulling up to the school, the beautiful blue mountain top of Kennesaw Mountain blends into the school's roof providing a backdrop to the college-like campus. Located in the center of the school is a courtyard. The court yard provides a quick way for students to get to class as well as a nice location for socializing and studying. Trees have been planted in the school with hopes that one day when Kennesaw Mountain High School alumni return to their school, they will find they have grown just as much as the trees. Even with such a large campus area, students easily find their way, always having a beautiful reference point in the center of the school.
