Vice President- David Okun |
David Okun was born 3 days after Christmas in 1989. Most people feel bad for him and think he gets jipped on presents, but it's actually the other way around, he gets more! He has always displayed an interest in languages starting with reading at a very early age. At 11, David moved from Philadelphia to Atlanta and began attending public school. Throughout middle school, he was consistently ahead of his class with Accelerated Reader Point. Beginning in 7th grade, he signed up for and was first introduced to what would later be his true love,
Spanish. He rose to the top of his class and quickly mastered conjugations and vocabulary. Now in his junior year, he is in AP
Spanish, spearheading the initiative for a post-AP Spanish class, and eagerly awaiting this summer where he will attend the prestigious Governor's Honors Program in Spanish. He is the vice president of the Spanish National Honors Society and is actively tutoring students in
Spanish and doing all his friends Spanish projects. |

Secretary- Kimber
Shealy |
Kimber Shealy is a junior and will graduate with the class of 2008. She runs varsity cross country and varsity track. She likes to pole vault, run, and hang out with her friends. She is the treasurer for the NHS, a member of the extemporaneous speaking team and a delegate in various Model UN conferences. She ran for secretary so she could help Spanish National Honors Society and what it does (such as community service and other works around the school). Also it is an opportunity to further her knowledge in spanish and to practice it more. Communication in all different languages is so important int he modern world and especially so with Spanish in the southern United States. This is part of the reason why she has gone as far as she possibly could with her spanish. Also, she loves learning cool spanish vocabulary words. She is planning on continuing to learn Spanish in college and hopefully another language (maybe 2 more!). |
