REQUESTING
TRANSCRIPTS
All colleges and
technical schools require a final transcript; they must have
proof of graduation. There are now two ways to request official
transcripts to be sent to schools:
1)
Transcripts can be sent from the Guidance Department. Your first
transcript is free. All subsequent transcripts are $2 each, per county
policy. You are encouraged to request your final transcript ahead of
time, rather than waiting until the very end of the semester.
2)
Seniors can now send official transcripts through the
GACollege411 transcript exchange. To do this, students should go to
www.gacollege411.org and follow these steps:
-
Log on using user name and password, or create an account
-
Click on My 411
-
Click on My Transcripts
-
Add any missing information
-
Find high school name if not pre-filled
-
Click on update button
-
Choose college(s) from list
-
Click on Release Transcript
Students
have the option to release all future versions of transcripts that are
uploaded by the school (including the final transcript) by clicking on
the appropriate box. Also, students may view the release date and the
date the college downloaded the transcript.
All out-of-state transcripts (and some in-state)
cannot be sent through GACollege411. Students must come to Guidance to
request these transcripts to be sent.

2. The custodial parent is to be notified by mail or phone of

Attention Students and
Parents--Important Notice about GPA:
While it is true that the Hope
Scholarship calculation is changing for the Class of 2007 and
beyond--and ONLY Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate
courses will receive extra weighting in the calculation...this will
NOT effect the students' overall GPA calculation for our Kennesaw
Mountain transcript. The current method of calculating GPAs on a 4.0
weighted scale continues to remain in effect--which includes
weighting certain Honors, Magnet, AP, and IB courses. See the Cobb
County website for details on weighted courses.
NEW RESOURCES FOR
PARENTS:
College Board has designed
www.collegeboard.com/parents to
provide parents with pertinent information. College Board also is
the SAT's official website and is a great resource for test
preparation, financial aid research, college finding, and many other
college related topics.
